This wine is made with the Kekfrankos grape (in Hungarian, it's Lemberger in German apparently). This grape makes wines rich in tannins and often with a spicy flavour.Vineyard : Balf

It's also known as "the Pinot Noir of the east", but that's more to do with it's reputation and it being widely spread than to do with the taste it seems.
Anyway, first time I'd tried this kind of wine and fairly impressed.
It had a dracula blood red colour to it and was dark flavoured and medium bodied. By dark flavoured I mean dark fruits, blackcurrants, berries etc.
Very smooth with a medium finish, Some tannins and a bit acidic and dry.
