Another one from Vignerons de Cers Portiragnes in their Code range, this one is Syrah Passion (the other one I've tried is the Merlot Emotion which was very good).

This won a Medaille D'Or in 2009, as did the Merlot (I'm wondering if the winery won it as opposed to both of these wines).

It's a deep black-red colour with an earthiness, like wet mud on the nose.

A little dry and medium bodied with a medium finish.
It's not acidic or tannic and there's a slight sour aftertaste, very subtle though.

To be honest the taste was difficult to place, but it was very drinkable.
Not fruity or spicy or grapey, just drinkable.

Give it a go.
