My first tasting of this Mead Honey Wine was at a wine fair in the Hanshin Department store in Osaka, where they had over 300 different wines to sample, including this one.

I tried this one last, and ended up buying a bottle, mainly out of curiosity and because I thought my wife might like it (she likes honey).

I was a bit disappointed when I tried it at home, guess the atmosphere at the wine fair (and the countless samples I'd drunk before), improved the taste of this wine.

It has a light, honey nose with a hint of sherry and alcohol.

It's quite a full bodied wine, as you might expect, being made from honey, and it's quite syrupy and cloying.

Not as sweet as I was expecting, and it has a little lemony sourness to it on the aftertaste, around the edges of the tongue.

Nice as a one off, but not sure how often I would drink it though (it's actually been sitting in my fridge for a few weeks now, it's almost gone, but a wine I rush to drink).

My wife didn't like it much by the way.
