It's not very often you see Swiss wines (at least in Japan!), so when I saw this on a trip to Rokko Mountain in Kobe I took a chance and bought it, despite the ¥4000 ($40) price!Grape : Gamay Pinot Noir

On the pour it's quite a weak, thin, light bodied wine with a slightly browny red colour.
It has a light fruity, juicy nose, quite refreshing with hints of strawberries.
On the palate there are some mellow fruits (it's not a fruit bomb), the strawberries come through on the finish.
It's a refreshing light wine and a nice blend of the Pinot Noir floral style and the Gamay light fruitiness.
Overall, very pleasant but not a rock star wine, so I felt it was overpriced at $40 (although to be honest that's probably just because it's Japan, non-mainstream wines tend to have quite a markup here)
So for the price it was a bit disappointing.
Worth a try if you can get it cheaper.
The winery have an English website here.
