On the nose it's earthy with some fruit in the background (dark berries and blackcurrants).
On the palate, medium bodied, earthy, quite bold, pretty tannic (a lot of roughness on the teeth) and fairly dry.
Some blackcurrants on the finish.
More fruit comes through as it's allowed to breathe, it opens up quite nicely.
This is quite a mellow, heavy dry wine.
Overall a nice, relaxing evening wine and pretty cheap at only ¥999 ($10).
Gave it a high score, because of the price, excellent value.
