Finally getting round to writing up my review for the Beaujolais Nouveau wine I bought back in November.

This year I decided to try out on of the PET bottles that they've been selling Beaujolais Nouveau in, in Japan (perhaps elsewhere too, but I'm sure I read somewhere it started in Japan a couple of years ago...maybe?) for a few years now.

To be honest didn't notice any difference between this and a glass bottle once it was poured out into a wine glass (didn't try drinking it straight from the bottle, thought that might be a bit uncouth).

It was a gorgeous dark claret, deep purple, blood red colour in the glass, with a big, bold fruity nose.

On the palate, not as big and fruity as I was expecting but smooth and bold.
Hints of vegetation in the background coming through more on the long finish.

Very dry with some tannins, making the mouth salivate.

It's nice, not amazing, but very quaffable. Better than last years.
