This is from a small winery in Katsunuma, Japan. Apparently the owner ran a cake shop for years but wanted to get into wine (Katsunuma is known as the "Town of Grapes" in Japan, everybody grows grapes there, and there are loads of wineries).
So he set up a winery.
Pretty good wines too.

This was "sur lie" which means the wine is aged "on the lees" which is sediment consisting of dead yeast cells and grape particles. It can increase the tannins and make a more complex wine.

This wine made from the Koshu grape (which is Japan's only native grape) has a very pleasant smell, and taste and was very easy to drink.
