Seven Flags Pinot Noir 2007

Seven Flags Pinot Noir 2007

Winery : Paul Cluver
Grape : Pinot Noir
Region : South Africa > Elgin
Alcohol : ??%   Red wine
Price : ¥¥
Score : 70 by MoIppai (27/01/2010)

This was an expensive wine from Paul Cluver in South Africa, with only 2880 bottles produced and only 60 of them reaching Japan!

I had this at a tasting, so didn't buy one of those 60.

It was medium bodied, and had hints of cheese on the aftertaste, or was that butter? A little sharp and acidic on the aftertaste too.

It's very different to the Thandi Pinot Noir from Elgin, South Africa I had at the same tasting.
This one tasted expensive but I prefered the cheaper Thandi wine.
Guess I have cheap tastes.
