Robert Mondavi Private Selection Pinot Noir 2007

Robert Mondavi Private Selection Pinot Noir 2007

Winery : Robert Mondavi
Grape : Pinot Noir
Region : USA > California > Napa Valley
Alcohol : 13%   Red wine
Price : ¥¥
Score : 94 by MoIppai (28/06/2010)

I bought a glass of this in a rather posh (for me) steak restaurant in Osaka and although I can't remember the price exactly I was splashing out so it was probably around ¥1500 ($15) for the glass you see in the picture.

Hence I thought it was expensive...but...just before writing this up I googled this wine and seeing as it appears on wine sites called for example "Wine for the cheap", with comments like "plus it's cheap", and "acceptable table wine", I guess it's cheaper in the US than Japan!
(around $10 a bottle it seems).

Anyway, I'll pretend it's an expensive Mondavi wine as it cost me $15 for a few sips.

It's a medium bodied wine, with a full rich nose.

Berries, cherries, rose and spices on the palate. Quite a floral wine.

I really liked it and wish I could have bought a bottle for $10!
