I'm always looking out for fish-shaped bottles of wine (or any unusual shape really), and hadn't seen any for ages until this one popped up in my local supermarket.

From Pescevino Winery in Osimo, Italy, this red table wine was surprisingly drinkable, bearing in mind it was fairly cheap and came in a novelty shaped bottle.

It's dark, black red in the glass with a dark, bold, fruity nose. There were some earthy notes too.

On the palate, fairly fruity but not as heavy as I was expecting it to be, with a fairly light finish.
Some strawberries and blackcurrants.

Very dry, almost bone dry with some tannins.

Like I said this was better than I thought it would be, and worth checking out, for the bottle if nothing else.
