This grape I've only seen here in Japan, Muscat Bailey A (sometimes written as Muscat Berry A - I think the Japanese alphabet writing of Bailey and Berry is the same, so when converted to the Roman alphabet it can vary).

It's definitely an acquired taste as far as I can tell. My wife acquired it, I didn't.
It's very, very fruity and berry like, and a lot of the wines made with it (which seemed to be about 70% of the wines in Katsunuma, either single variety or in the blend) were very juicelike.

This had a gorgeous violet, pink colour.
As I said it tasted like juice, but not your use light, wine juice flavour, more like straight out berry juice.

I actually gave my tasting glass away as I couldn't drink it.

But that's not to say it wasn't good. As I say, it's popular in Japan although we didn't buy the Muscat Bailey A wine here, my wife did bring back a few bottles from other wineries.
