Mount Vernon Malborough Sauvignon Blanc 2007

Mount Vernon Malborough Sauvignon Blanc 2007

Winery : Mt Vernon Wine Company
Grape : Semillon  Sauvignon Blanc
Region : New Zealand > Marlborough
Alcohol : 12%   White wine
Price :
Score : 70 by MoIppai (10/01/2010)

Had this at a wine tasting, and tried to find out more about the wine and winery on the internet, but can't find the New Zealand Mt Vernon winery. Although there is one in California.

Anyway, this wine is 87% Sauvignon Blanc and 13% semillon and has a citrusy nose with limes and lemons.

It's medium bodied with a fresh, limey and lemony palatte. Kind of like a flat tonic water with a slice of lemon.

A little tart and acidic on the finish.

I initially scored this at 75 but after trying it some more it became too zingy and acidic, so dropped down to 70.
