A very light bodied merlot that smelled like juice. Fresh and fruity. A lot of the Japanese versions of merlot and cabernet sauvignon are a lot lighter and more juice like than their French or other western counterparts.

I guess the Japanese taste leans more that way. Unfortunately I prefer the heavier, more full bodied versions.

We drank this cold (nearly all the wines in the tasting rooms of Katsunuma, red or white, come straight out of fridges), but it was refreshing.
