This wine is made from the Bonarda grape in Argentina, up until recently the most widely planted grape in Argentina - since passed by Malbec.

Originally a red Piedmont grape from Italy, the Italian version of the grape is quite rare in Italy now.

The Bonarda grape is not usually used to make a varietal wine however. (Thanks go to "The Argentinian Wine Guide" http://www.argentinawineguide.com for this info).

I unfortunately however, did not like this varietal wine. It had a flat taste, and apparently was supposed to have flavours of blueberries and a fresh aftertaste, but I didn't get any of that.

I found it acidic, dry and tannic. And it scored very low.
Could however have just been a bad bottle? Or may, just not my cup of tea.
