This ¥1700 ($17) Haut-Medoc wine is a deep black red lush colour, fairly opaque and almost murky or cloudy (but not in a bad way, more of an impression of cloudiness than actually cloudy, like a beer if that makes sense...and it probably doesn't).

Dark on the nose, dark berries, with a hint of earthiness.

Medium to full bodied in the mouth with earthiness on the palate too.
The fruit is subtle, more like an afterthought.

Pretty dry and pretty smooth. Slightly sharp around the edge of the tongue but in an expensive way, not a cheap acidity.

This wine has a medium finish and feels quite mellow and "mature".

Excellent.
