This is a medium bodied Japanese Cabernet Sauvignon from the Asaya Winery in Katsunuma. We visited the winery (well, the tasting room really) in 2009 and had a good time. I recommend it if you're in the area.

As for this wine, I wasn't overly impressed with it unfortunately.

It had a really thin, weedy colour and consistency, like a very diluted red/brown liquid.

Not so much fruit on the nose with almost like an "off" smell.

The taste is also fairly thin with a bitter sourness to it, and a short finish.

It's drinkable but only average. (Their L'Espoir is much better).
