This Japanese white wine from Katsunuma Winery is made with 100% koshu grapes. Koshu is the only grape native to Japan apparently and as such is one of the main grapes used in many Japanese wines.Grape : Koshu

This particular wine from 2006 had a product run of only 32000 bottles, which is a shame as it's pretty good so they should have made more.
It's light and crisp on the nose with a light, weak golden colour in the glass.
Fresh and crisp on the palate with lots of fruit. Mainly apples which initially came through on the finish but as it opened up the apple flavour came through stronger and stronger, not just on the finish.
It's a little sharp and has some sourness to it but this complements the flavour.
Overall a very nice, refreshing white wine.
It may just be my personal preference but I'm not a big fan of Japanese red wines, but Japanese white wines are on the whole pretty good.
