2010 Nouveau Merlot 2010

This wine takes it's grapes from the April 2010 harvest from Talca in Chile.

It's released under the 'Wine of Chile' label and produced by Vina El Aromo. I bought this in Japan and searching the internet, the only result I could find for this wine was a Japanese review, so I'm wondering if it's just for the Japanese market.

The bottle is a screwcap and the wine is a dark pruple, red colour on the pour,. It has a big, bold fresh nose and is fruity but with some vegetal notes coming through later.

On the palate it's a little harsh at first but the aftertaste mellows out.

I got some mellow dark berries, some vegetal flavours, like peppers, etc coming through later.

It was quite acidic around the gums and pretty dry too.

I think I might have served this a bit too warm (it was drunk at the peak of the Japanese summer where the room temp is in the 30s), as I didn't get much freshness on the taste.

Overall an average to fairly good table wine merlot.
