According to the Master of Malt website (they who kindly sent me this sample to try), "This was distilled on the 22nd January 1991, and was aged in a first fill bourbon barrel for 20 years before bottling in March 2011." So aged in a bourbon barrel huh? Interesting...I'm a big fan of bourbons.Location : Scotland > Scottish Lowlands

This whisky is light golden in the glass (it's not been caramel coloured apparently), and has warm alcohol on the nose with hints of petrol.
It's warm on the palate with quite a fizzy, buzz from the alcohol on the lips (at 55.8%, that's not too surprising).
Tastewise, it's mellow with hints of leather and wood.
I added a few drops of water and some floral hints came through on the nose.
On the palate, the water mellowed the alcohol somewhat, but there was still a little sharpness on the tongue.
This whisky has quite a creamy texture too.
Overall a nice whisky, but not too distinctive for me. Worth a try (with whisky as with most things in life, you should give it a go at least once to see for yourself).
It's available in 70cl bottles or the 3cl dram sample bottles from Master of Malt here :
