Elijah Craig 12 Years Old

One thing I like about Elijah Craig Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the bottle and the cool, squeaking sound the cork cap makes as it's pulled from the neck.

It has a light, pleasant nose with sugar and light caramel notes.

On the palate it's smooth, sophisticated and only a little sharp on the lips.
There's a subtle sweetness to it too, with some hints of vanilla.

There's also some woody, earthy tones in there and hints of liquorice on the aftertaste.

Overall it's a subtle, light tasting bourbon that's very drinkable, and makes you want to hear that squeaking cork sound once again.

In Japan, it's won Whiskey Magazine's "Best of the Best" two years running apparently (in 2003 and 2004 I believe).
