The Black Velvet whiskey is a whiskey mix, in that it is a blend of various whiskies. I've put it down as a Rye as it does contain a Canadian style of whiskey called Rye, but techinically this is not a rye whiskey.Location : canada

Originally produced from 1945 in Quebec, it's changed various hands and is now owned by the Constellation Brands company.
Black Velvet make 2 kinds of whiskey, this one, the Black Velvet and also the Black Velvet Reserve.
This ius a pale and light coloured whiskey, similar to the Platte Valley Corn Whiskey I've also reviewed on this site.
It's light tasting and a little sharp around the tongue.
The aftertaste is acidic and also kind of dry.
It's not an "In yer face" whiskey and it's pretty cheap, I got it for ¥999 ($10) so it's pretty good for that price.
