Tatsuriki 龍力 (Power of the Dragon)

Tatsuriki 龍力 (Power of the Dragon)

Brewery : Honda Shoten
Area : Japan > Hyogo > Himeji
Sake Type : Tokubetsu Junmaishu
Alcohol : 16.5%
Price :
Score : 90 by MoIppai (08/05/2011)

This very dramatically named sake is made from Yamada rice polished down to 65% and has a Nihonshudo of +1 so may be slightly dry.

It's a slight greeny yellow colour in the glass and is slightly viscous, not as smooth running as water for example.

It has a fresh, crisp sake nose with no alcohol to speak of.

On the palate it's very smooth and not sharp or acidic at all.

The Tatsuriki (龍力) sake has a mellow flavour, nothing distinctive stands out and it is very slightly dry.

It's very easy to drink but nothing stands out flavour wise though.

I had this cold first (reishu 冷酒), and was going to score it 88, but later I had it warmed up (atsukan 熱燗) and it was much better (I wrote "excellent" in my notes), so I'll give it a 90.
