According to their website (link at the end of the review) - which has an English page! - the Nemoto Sake Brewery was established in 1603! In the days of Ieyasu Tokugawa. Now that's a pretty old brewery by any stretch of the imagination.Area : Japan > Ibaraki > Oku Kuji

The Kujinoyama (久慈の山) sake has a nihonshudo of +3, so possibly fairly dry and the rice is polished down to 60%.
It's a clear sake with a fairly prominent clean alcoholic sake nose, some hints of sharp sweet apples, like Golden Delicious or something, but the apples are slightly off, heading towards mouldy. (But that's not as bad as it might sound).
Smooth, crisp and clean on the palate with nothing on the throat, slips down nicely.
There are some hints of grapes and again, slightly overripe fruit.
It actually reminded me a little bit of a slightly gone-off white wine, or perhaps a Japanese white wine (which generally have a slightly gone-off white flavour to them). Not good in a white wine, but works here.
Overall a drinkable, nice sake with hints of fruit.
