This Honjouzo sake (a small amount of distilled sake is added to make a honjouzo sake) from Nambu Sake Brewery in Fukui Prefecture is made with rice polished down to 60%.

It has a slight yellow hint to it and a light, fresh sake nose.

It's light and smooth on the palate with only a little sharpness around the back of the tongue.

There's a hint of apples and maybe grapes on the finish.

Overall this is a fresh, light tasting sake. There is an alcoholic kicj on the finish but just enough to be pleasant.

Very drinkable and excellent for a cup sake.

Their website (only in Japanese, but it does have a nice video if you like looking at people moving rice around) can be found here.
