This is another one from my recently joined Monthly Sake Club and it was entered into the Japan Slow Food Contest in 2009.

It's actually a Vintage Sake which is kind of unusual as generally sake's are not kept and cellared the way wines are. This vintage is from 2006.

It's made with rice and rice kouji only (no added alcohol) and the rice is 68% polished.

It has a Nihonshudo (sweet-dryness rating) score of +2 so should be a little dry, and I found it to be "fairly" dry.

It has a very light, subtle fragrance on the nose and is soft and smooth in the mouth with no discernible acidity.

It was heading towards thick and syrupy buy staying just on the right side of it.

I had this at room temperature and really liked it.

The "Futaho" from Choryo Brewery is a sophisticated and elegant sake and is very highly recommended.

Oh, and it has a really nice soft, silky paper label too.
