I had this cold (reishu) and it had a subtle smell but was a little astringent ('suppai' in Japanese), and sweet. Area : Japan > Hyogo > Itami

It was actually quite cloying and sugary (when cold - improved as it got warmer).
It wasn't very fruity like some sake.
Overall I would say it was smooth but not easy to drink a lot, maybe one glass then change.
