Cider Shot Zero Dry Chuhi
I learnt fairly early on that Japanese cider and English cider are two very different things. English cider is a tasty alcoholic drink made from fermented apples. Japanese cider is basically soda water or a kind of lemonade. A soft drink.
It was very disappointing to discover this.
Anyway, this is a Chuhi made with Cider (and I assume shochu to give it that little bit of alcohol, and the "chu" in "chuhi").
It's a clear and very fizzy cocktail with a light, carbonated lemon nose.
On the palate it has a light, sweet lemonade feel, very sugary in feeling, syrupy, although not incredibly sweet.
Don't really know how to score this as not had many chuhi's, but it's very drinkable, like a sweet, slightly cloying lemonade.
It's does have a slight dry feel to it initially, but then comes the sweetness, followed by the dryness again on the finish. A bit odd that.
