Striking for Beer

Carslberg Beer Cap

There are many reasons for workers to strike, British Airways workers recently struck for pay and conditions, the English school I used to work went on strike because the management hadn’t paid us for two months, etc. etc. but…striking for beer? That’s a great one.

Apparently workers at Carslberg’s warehouse and factory in Denmark have gone on strike because the boss’s have taken away their beer coolers and the right to drink beer whenever they wanted throughout the day.

Now they’re only allowed to drink at lunchtime.

Previously they could drink at work but

could not be drunk at work. It was up to each and everyone to be responsible.

said the spokesman Jens Bekke.

Well, the workers didn’t seem to take to this new restriction very well and walked (staggered?) off the job on Wednesday and Thursday.
Not sure if the disputes been resolved yet, but Power to the People!

Any excuse for a John Lennon song. 笑
