Autumn Beer in Japan
Looks like Autumns arrived in Japan.
How do I know? Well it’s not the sharp change in weather (it’s less humid but still in the high 20s), or the change in leaves (that hasn’t started yet), no, I know it’s Autumn because the Autumn Beers have gone on sale!
The Japanese beer companies love to release new cans or new kinds of beers, seemingly every month.
Well this is the latest from Kirin, Aki Aji (Taste of Autumn)
It’s not a bad lager actually (some of the special beers they bring out seem to be random experiments in taste), but this one I’ve bought a few times and still enjoy.
Full bodied, fruity and refreshing.
I haven’t actually seen any other autumn beers from other companies yet, but I’ll keep looking.
Updated (15/11/09) :
Finally found another Autumn beer! This one is from Suntory and is called Aki Nama (click for review). It’s a pretty good beer actually but unfortunately I found it in the clearance bin at the off license as it looks like the Winter beers are on their way.
