French Wine Exports Fall in 2009
Unsurprisingly really with the current ongoing global economic crisis, French wine exports have fallen 25% in the first six months of 2009.
Everybody’s cutting back it seems and luxuries like expensive wine, champagne (down 45%!) and cognac (down 27%) are one of the first to go.
Ironically really seeing as this year I’ve been experimenting with more expensive wine (although admittdly that just means a jump from $10 to $20-30 but still, it’s a step up).
Less expensive table wines fell only 1% apparently (which is probably the range where my ‘more expensive wine’ really sits…lol )
