This is a great way for all airlines to lower fuel costs and decrease their carbon footprint. Too bad the US airlines are not as much in synch. It seems that the USA airline fuel buyers are not communicating with the ailine wine buyers. If they got together the US airlines would all make the change immediately.
PET bottles are available from EnVino, a plastics company in northern California for any winery to use to pack wines for airlines. EnVino can fill the bottles also as fillinf of the airline size wine bottle is only done by a few wineries.

With the cost of shipping always rising, the plastic bottle would be the ideal way to lower cost. I personally don't like this, so I would suggest giving the consumer a choice of glass or plastic.
