Changes to the Drink Reviews

I decided to change the “price” section on the drinks reviews (specifically the wine section), as it seemed a bit confusing and to be honest a little pointless having the specific prices in different currencies, etc.

It’s now a much simpler, three level rating system :

  • ¥= cheap
  • ¥¥= mid-range
  • ¥¥¥= expensive

Simple huh?
Obviously prices is relative depending on the country and person, especially with the global economic mess (is it really bottoming out??), but it’s a better system I think.

A mate of mine from England told me once he has nothing in his cellar less than 25quid ($50!), whereas I have nothing in my “cellar” (wine rack of about 9 bottles) above $30. So I’m guessing our ideas of what’s cheap and not are a bit different ;)
Basically my view is :

  • Cheap = ¥500-¥2000 ($5-$20)
  • Mid = ¥2000> ¥5000 ($20-$50)
  • Expensive = >¥5000 (anything over $50)

What do you think? What do you consider to be a mid-range price wine?

  1. Nice move,

Idea sounds great to me, beats trying to calculate

the british pound, which seems to change daily.
