Bit cheeky of Sapporo calling this an "Ice Lager" I think, as it's actually a Daisan (or third category beer-taste drink, basically a low malt, or a beer that's had herbs, or something added, or more often than not, made with corn or peas).
This is one of a few new releases for the hot Japanese summer from the big brands in Japan, (Asahi Blue Label being another).

Anyway, the reason they've called it an "Ice..." is because it's "Aged below 0°C for a fine, clear taste and full, rich flavor", according to the can.

On the pour it's a very pale golden "lager" with a white, fizzy head.

It has a light, almost lager like nose, but there's a hint of chemical metallicness.

On the palate, it's pretty light in the mouth, very smooth and almost flavourless, but that's often a good thing with daisans!
There's almost no metallic taste on the palate and it has a nice, soft feel in the mouth. Not the empty, carbonated feel you often get.

Have to say, surprisingly, refreshingly good and perfect for the hot summer, so well done Sapporo!
