Owa

Brewery : Owa Brewery
Location : Belgium
Beer Type : Beer
Alcohol : 5.5% Abv
Score: 92 by MoIppai (02/08/2011)

Discovered this one today in the "foreign" food shop near my work.
It's a Belgium beer, brewed by a Japanese brewer in Belgium! As we say in Japan, "Omoshiroi" (interesting).

It's a coppery red beer with a quickly disappearing white head. It has a nice hoppy, malty nose.

On the palate it's smooth, light and very drinkable.
Bitter, malty and dry with some subtle hop flavours.

The main taste on the finish is the malty bitterness, and just enough dryness to make you go back for another mouthful.

This is a very good craft beer, and the only downside is the price. ¥700 ($7) for a 33cl bottle is a bit steep, so not one I'll be drinking very often, unfortunately.
