Kirin Koi Aji (濃い味)

Kirin Koi Aji (濃い味)

Brewery : Kirin
Location : Japan > Tokyo
Beer Type : Daisan (Happosei,Third Category)
Alcohol : 3.5% Abv
Calories : 19KCal/100ml
Score: 88 by MoIppai (02/03/2011)

This is the new low calorie daisan from Kirin, called Koi Aji (濃い味) which translates as "Strong Taste", or as Kirin have it on the can "Kirin's Deeply Rich Taste" (or you could even go for "Dense Taste" if you ask babelfish, but that's up to you).

It's only 19kCal and has zero glucose apparently.

Surprisingly for a daisan, and a low calorie one at that this is quite tasty. It does actually have a "Strong Taste".

Fairly full in the mouth too, actually feels almost like a lager.
The taste is a medium kind of lager (not light or heavy), there's a hint of hoppiness on the aftertaste, and very little if any of the odd metallic, carbonated water taste you get with these Japanese "fake" beers.

I quite like this (as a cheap alternative to real beer), and can see me buying it in the future. It may even replace the Suntory Kinmugi Rich Malt as my go to Daisan.
