This is the 2012 version of the Autumn Beer from Kirin "Aki Aji" - "Taste of Autumn".

It has 1.3 times the usual amount of malt in a Kirin lager apparently, but it's not that noticeable on the taste.

It's a light golden colour on the pour with a reasonably sized, bubbly white head.

Slightly malty on the nose but not too significant.

Light and fresh in the mouth and bitter on the finish.

Tastewise, nothing much, dry and bitter and slightly malty.

Still it's very drinkable and out of the 3 Autumn brews from the big Japanese breweries this year, this is the only real beer.

So you've got to give Kirin credit for that.
