Beer Type : Daisan (Happosei,Third Category)

This is a dark version of the Suntory Jokki beer, called Jokki Kuro (Kuro meaning black in Japanese).
It's actually a Daisan (low malt beer-taste drink) and surprisingly good.

It's more of a very dark brown with a hint of red than a jet black and it has a thickish yellow/white head.

It has a malty dark, toffee nose with a hint of coffee but still that daisan chemical nose int he background.

On the palate, dark roasted malt that does a good job of covering up the carbonated metallic daisan taste.

As I said, surprisingly good, so much so I bought a case of it to have as my daily beer during December (now switched back to my usual Kin Mugi, but it was good for a change).
