The Chimay Triple from the Peres Trappistes at the Scourmont Abbey in Belgium is the pale yellow coloured labelled bottle (the other 2 beers from Chimay being the Chimay Red and Chimay Blue.

For some reason when I wrote my notes for this one I was being overly expressive in describing the look...here goes:

A tan, slightly orangey coloured fizzy opaque, cloudy, fizzy beer with a big slightly off-white head.

There were strong hoppy aromas with quite a hoppy taste, quite full on with the hops but not too "fruity" hoppy. A lighter hoppy taste.

The flavour really lingered in the mouth (a long finish in wine terms I guess).

Despite the high alcohol content it had actually quite a light feel to the beer.

This could be one of my favourite of the Chimay beers, although I don't think I would drink it very often. Just when I fancied a change I guess.
