This was the Worlds First Pale Ale apparently, originally brewed by Bass Breweries Ltd in Burton-on-Trent, but now brewed by InBev UK Ltd (not quite as cool sounding) in Luton.

Obviously, being from England, I've drunk this there, but this time I had the Bass & Co. Pale Ale as imported by Asahi Beer.

It's a golden toffee brown colour in the glass with an off-white head.

Quite fizzy, with a lot of bubbles.

It has a nice fresh malted barley nose and there's a chewy maltyness on the palate.
It's also a little bitter and dry.

On the aftertaste there's soft malt.

Overall this is an excellent pale ale, and the world's first no less.
