Suntory Aki Raku (秋楽)

Suntory Aki Raku (秋楽)

Location : Japan > Osaka
Beer Type : Daisan (Happosei,Third Category)
Alcohol : 6% Abv
Calories : 50KCal/100ml
Score: 87 by MoIppai (18/09/2011)

One of the seasonal beers from Suntory Brewery in Japan (actually, this is a daisan, so third-category of beer, more like a very low-malt beer-like drink). Aki Raku (秋楽) in Japanese means "Autumn Fun", or "Autumn Comfort".

This one is made from roasted malt though, so could taste more like a beer than most? Let's see.

It's coppery orange/rust colour on the pour with a tiny head that soon disappears.

Nothing on the nose which in itself is a bit odd.

On the palate there's a slight taste of malt and a hint, very subtle, but a hint of dark chocolate.

Fairly flat and flabby in the mouth with hardly anything on the finish.

Overall a subtle flavoured daisan...not bad - had much worse!
