"Shirokirin is the Original Brew for Winter season. Mild and Refreshing Taste Fits Your Winter Delight."

Or so the can says.
I guess winter is here as the first Winter brew is on sale in the supermarkets.
This is a Happoshu, one of the "alternatives" to beer you can get in Japan - they use less hops and malt so get a tax reduction, so they can sell it cheaper (apparently).

This one is made from Malt, Hops, Barley, Rice and Corn.

It has a nice wintery looking can, gives me that Christmasy feeling already.

Ok, but what's it taste like?
Fairly non-metallic for a happoshu, it actually has a nice taste. Like a very light lager (Fosters or something) but does have that slightly unusual happoshu aftertaste, so you know it's not a real lager.

I'd drink this one again.

Try another from Kirin: Kirin Strong Seven
Try another from Japan : Rokko Pilsner
Try another Happoshu: Chocolat Brewery
