This is one of the Third-Category beers that you get in Japan which is made from peas (not all third-category beers are made from peas, but this one is). Location : Japan > Tokyo

Japanese tax for beers is based on the amount of malt, so third-type (daisan 第三) beers have no malt so are much cheaper than regular beers or happoshu (low malt - less than 60%) beers.
Third-category beers (they're actually called liquers - at least in Japanese - I believe as they aren't beers at all), or "beer like beverage" generally don't taste very good and have a strange metallic aftertaste.
Thsi one doesn't have too much of that aftertaste but it does have the unusual empty mouth feel you get on the aftertaste after swallowing the beer.
It's like the drink has made your mouth emptier than before.
I believe this is Sapporo's best selling Daisan (Third-category beer like beverage), but I've no idea one. Decidedly average to poor.
