Radeberger Pilsner

Radeberger Pilsner

Brewery : Radeberger
Location : Germany > Dresden
Beer Type : Lager
Alcohol : 4.8% Abv
Score: 86 by MoIppai (18/08/2009)

"This was a great, light lager.", this was my original review way back in 2009. Succint and to the point, although it would appear my view on this beer has changed.

I originally scored this a 90, but drinking it again (and having forgotten I'd reviewed it before), I had a different reaction.

First a bit about the beer and brewery as read off the can.
The brewery was "Born at the Royal Court of Dresden" and has been around since 1872 (actually that may have been this lager, and not the brewery, but either way, it's old).

The ingredients are : Water, barley malts, hops and yeast.

It's a light golden coloured lager witha fairly big white, thick fizzy head.

Not much in the nose, but in the mouth there's an odd, bitter and almost sour aftertaste.

The back of the throat has a dry, sour feel to it, and the pilsner is quite dry too.

Overall, not too keen on it this time, I scored it 82 so we'll average it to 86.
But I won't be buying it again (assuming I remember I've bought it before!)
