Kirin Pilsner Beer (Taisho Era)

Kirin Pilsner Beer (Taisho Era)

Beer Type : Lager
Alcohol : 5% Abv

I'm not sure if this is a new Kirin lager or a re-released one, as it's in a vintage style can design (along with the "usual" Kirin Lager, which also has the old (blue) design on the can) which Kirin have launched as a nostalgic campaign.

(Actually just checked the Japanese on the can and it's "Fukkoku Lager (Taisho)" which means reproduction, so I guess this a reproduction of the old lager from the Taisho era - 1912-1936).
(The blue can is from the Meiji era 1868-1912).

Anyway, it's much nicer than the standard Kirin Lager, but still fairly generic.

Smooth, light, slightly effervescent and with a pleasant enough after taste.

It's in the Pilsner style and as with a lot of Japanese generic lagers (Asahi, Kirin, Suntory), it does what it says on the can.

So can't really fault it for that.
