This Ginger and Pale Ale daisan (third category beer) from Hokkaido Beer says Strong, Hot & Spicy on the label. And boy, they weren't kidding!Location : Japan > Hokkaido
Beer Type : Daisan (Happosei,Third Category)
Alcohol : 8% Abv

In the glass it's a fairly light golden colour with a strong, strong ginger smell.
Now I like ginger, and Japanese cuisine uses a lot of ginger, raw, pickled, cooked, all kinds and it's all good. But this was way too much for me.
On the first sip, very strong ginger, hot and spicy (as the label warned!). Burned the back of the throat.
Taste wise it's pretty much a ginger ale, as in the mixer, but with 8% alcohol. I have to say it didn't really taste like there was any alcohol in there, mind you my mouth was burning so much from the ginger I couldn't taste much else.
This is spicy, spicy, spicy.
