Doppo White Chocolate

A White Chocolate beer from Doppo brewery in Okayama for Valentines Day in Japan.

It's the custom in Japan for women to buy chocolate for men on Valentines Day so this year many breweries have released chocolate flavoured beers to tap into this market.

The ingredients in this beer are Malt ( > 50%), Hops, Cacao, White Chocolate and Orange Peel.

It's 5% Abv and according to the label has a "Mellow Milky Flavor".

The beer is a Doppo Original Type Okayama Craft Beer apparently and a pretty good craft beet it is too.

It's a cloudy, pale brown/orange fizzy beer on pouring with almost no head. Although fizzy in the glass with lots of bubbles it's not fizzy at all to taste.

It has a fruity hoppy smell with hints of the orange peel.

As I said, it's not fizzy in the mouth and very light and fruity with hops and hints of orange (the orange peel again).
I couldn't actually get much white chocolate taste to be honest.

It was more like a flat, weak orangeade.

The beer had a slightly syrupy mouth feel with a milky texture.

Overall an excellent, very drinkable craft beer, although really it was nothing like a beer at all to me.

Out of all the Chocolate Beers I've tried this valentines, this was definitely the best.
