Asahi Point Zero

Asahi Point Zero

Location : Japan > Osaka
Beer Type : Lager
Alcohol : 0% Abv
Calories : 22KCal/100ml

This is Asahi's recent attempt to get into the 0% lager market along with Kirin and Suntory.

To be honest, they shouldn't have bothered. This is just bizarre.
Light golden colour and a really unusual nose, like Shreddies or Shredded Wheat (the breakfast cereals).

Tastes nothing like beer or lager. Has a subtle wheaty taste and is very light bodied.
Texture wise it's soft, fizzy and not too gassy.

Actually has an odd papery taste, like when you ate paper as a child (didn't everyone do that or was that just me?).

A really strange 0% beer. How did they think this would pass as an alcoholic beer substitute??
Compared to the Kirin Free Lager version this is just awful.

As a soft drink, I guess it's not too bad if you can get past the shredded wheat smell and soggy cardboard taste.
