The first canned beer in Japan released in 1958 according to the label (or thereabouts, I translated it from the Japanese). That's why it's the Gold Revival.
It also says on the label that it's mild and easy to drink.
Well that is certainly true.

It has a really light colour, looking almost like a watered down lager. And it tastes like it too.

Although a big head in the glass when poured, it's hardly fizzy at all. There's no real taste to it, other than a very watered down lagery feel.

I can hardly believe that it's 5% alcohol. Potentially very dangerous! Very drinkable and would be a great session beer I think.

Ultimately forgettable, but goes down quickly and gets the job done.

Asahi have re-re-released this for the summer of 2010, so I tried it again (I had actually forgotten I'd drunk it back in October last year - not sure if that says more about me or Asahi).

Anyway, pretty much the same as before, quite a nice, if slightly bland lager. Good for coolign down in the heat - wonder if that's why it gained 2 points on last year?
Tokyo Five
I liked this beer.
I wrote about it on my blog too:

Try another Lager: Spaten Premium Lager
